There is definitely suspense throughout the movie because you can never truly tell if Jake and Melanie will get back together or if Melanie will get married to her fiancé that she now has. There is a lot of really cool moments in the movie that exhibit things such as lightning, cannons, etc because of the scenes taking place. The lighting and sound effects throughout the film are impeccable. Such as in the beginning and end when the movie has a flashback to when Jake and Melanie originally said they loved each other and would get married someday, knowing this at such a young age. There are multiple flashbacks throughout the movie. It is much like a story that you could hear someone tell in real life about a family member or friend. The dialogue seems very real-life and not predictable or fake. Not only do the characters have southern accents, they are openly expressive in their tone the entire movie. The dialogue is very fitting for this film.Although you may have issues, it is important that you stick side by side and work through those issues together. Some of the most important values that are supported through this are that you fall in love with someone for a reason. Although Melanie and Jake both stubbornly hid behind their true feelings, in the end they came together and realized their hearts belonged with each other. Some of the most important ideas dealt with in the text are that love always prevails. The setting helps to shape our notions about what will happen next because we notice that she is continuing to stay in Alabama longer and longer, reiterating how much she misses her original home and the people there. The setting is very important because it shows where Melanie grew up, where she fell in love with Jake, and it helps to bring back all of her previous memories from living there since she now lives in New York City. The main setting is where Melanie’s southern roots lie, Alabama. The setting starts out when Melanie and Jake are young kids, and then quickly moves to the present day (around late 90’s to early 2000’s).Jake is a southern man, rustic, hardworking and definitely a country man who knows what he wants and will work for it. Melanie is a fancily dressed woman with blonde hair, always looking her best. They are an example of a very stubborn couple that will hide their feelings before they give into one another. The main characters in this film are Melanie Smooter and Jake Perry, husband and wife.Another important image is Melanie’s wedding day, when she leaves to find Jake. Both Jake and Melanie are in these spots at the same time, reiterating their true love for one another. Some of the most important images in Sweet Home Alabama are both the beginning and the end when the lightning creates glass structure in the sand.Although the main character does not want to admit to herself or anyone else that she is still in love with her separated husband, it is apparent that she cannot leave him in her past. I believe that the theme of the film is that you can’t fight true love (or the redeeming power of love).I like the way the main character gets confused about her feelings, even though she tries to hide behind her feelings. The plot definitely interests me because I am always very interested in drama in movies, especially when they involve love. Memories come rushing back to her and likewise to the others, having a strong impact on the context of the film. Upon seeing her husband that she is separated from, as well as her friends and family, and finding out that her husband had once gone to find her because he still loved her, she began to change some. The main plot of the text is when the main character, Melanie, goes back to her hometown in Alabama to serve her husband divorce papers. Both men love the woman and it seems as if the woman, although she doesn’t want to admit it, still loves both men. There is a guy and a girl who are married (but separated) and the girl is planning to marry a much more rich, “put together” man. The film that I am going to analyze today is Sweet Home Alabama.
